I got into 3D using Cinema 4D as a hobbyist user in 2002. Working full-time as a image retoucher for a packaging company, I took an opportunity to apply these skills in their 3D department around 2008. Transferring my existing knowledge to 3DS Max & Vray.
Around 2014/5 - following a reduction in 3D workload in my full-time role, to keep my abilities sharp I began to use Blender in my own time. Being able to reproduce work to the standard possible with 3D apps I had previously used, meant that I was very confident switching to exclusively using Blender .
I now donate each month to the Blender development fund, as I really appreciate the freedom it offers to create. I use it in my full time role now as a Lead 3D artist & for personal work as well.
